Do you also want to make your forum HotTopic compatible? Use this document to learn how to do this. After creating an HFD file you can send it to HotTopic.nl, so we will post it on the HotTopic website. This will help us to support more forums. Go to this link to submit your HFD files.

After a long time of no updates, the new Windows version of HotTopic is almost ready for release. This week the beta testers will start testing the new HotTopic 2.0. This is a complete rewrite of HotTopic with lots of improvements, such as saving your topic list on a FTP server. All features of HotTopic 1.x are included in this new version.

HotTopic for Linux version 0.7.0 is released now. A lot of bugs/memleaks and stuff are fixed. All GNOME calls are filtered out as well, wich means HotTopic will work on KDE.
It took a while but its here!
For your instant: It's not permitted to host or change copies of HotTopic without permission of the HotTopic Team, except for the Linux version, which you are encouraged to mirror, use and hack upon!

I made a few releases of HotTopic for Linux, but they didn't work well. I also gave a too high version number.
The version released now is a bugfix/code cleanup/ new features release. Version number 0.6.
From now on versions will be numbered correctly and will be as bugfree (tm) as possible.

xCAT-Industries.nl has released a XML for phpBB2 forums. With this script every owner of a phpBB2 forum can make his or her forum compatible with HotTopic.
A quote from the creator:
This add-on for phpBB 2.0 outputs an ActiveTopics list in XML format that is full compatible with HotTopic (www.hottopic.nl). HotTopic is a program that tracks topics you specify on a forum, this program determines if a topic is 'active' by downloading an activetopics xml file that needs to be produced by the server, our script enables adds hottopic support to your phpBB 2.xx forum, new in this version is that active topic XML files can be cached to reduce server load.
